Tools needed:
Exacto knife / razor blade
Squeegee
Tape measure / Ruler
Masking tape
Spray bottle full of water.
* Optional: For a less aggressive initial tack, but longer drying time, you can add 1 drop of liquid dish soap to your spray bottle. Shake before using.

Step 1:
Clean the vehicle surface thoroughly. Pay special attention to edges, and cracks that may be hiding dust or grime
Step 2:
Test fit by holding your vinyl in place with masking tape. Mark position with tape, or tape in place along top edge, allowing you to peel the backing paper.
Step 3:
Wet vehicle surface with water solution. Make sure not to get the backing paper wet!
Step 4:
Peel backing paper and generously spray adhesive side of vinyl with water solution.
Step 5:
Make sure positioning is correct. (water allows you to temporarily slide the vinyl around the surface )
Step 6:
If working with solid stripes, or unmasked vinyl, spray top of vinyl before you squeegee to avoid scratches.
Step 7:
Firmly squeegee vinyl in place, working from center out.
Step 8:
Spray masking / transfer tape to loosen, and let sit for 5 minutes.
Step 9:
Carefully peel back masking / transfer tape, keeping it flat with the surface so you don’t peel up the fresh vinyl.
Step 10:
Trim extra overlap along edges with razor blade if needed. Bubbles can be carefully popped with a needle or corner of your razor blade.
Step 11:
Go over vinyl with heat gun or hair dryer to speed up drying process if needed.

Windshield Visor Strip Installation Instructions:

Windshield visor strip installation instructions

You will need:
A spray bottle of water. (For a more forgiving install, you can add a drop of dish soap, and shake well. Note: if you add soap, you may need to allow more drying time.)
Masking tape
A razor blade
A vinyl squeegee (included with KI Studios orders)
A towel (Blue Shop towels or microfibers are great)

Step 1:
Start off by cleaning the windshield with a 50% alcohol and water solution paying special attention to edges along the rubber seal. If you don't have alcohol, windex will do.

Step 2:
Use masking tape to hold the vinyl in position. I place 3 pieces of tape on the roof so I am not reaching for it later. Estimate the desired width you would like and tape the strip in place.

Step 3:
Measure from the top of the windshield to the bottom of the strip to make sure it is even on both sides and adjust if necessary.

Step 4:
Use a 3rd piece of tape to hinge the decal down the center, allowing you to work with one side at a time.

Step 5:
Peel half of the decal and cut the backing paper at the center of the windshield.

Step 6:
Wipe away any paper dust that may remain from cutting the backing paper.

Step 7:
Spray the windshield and sticky side of the vinyl with a 1 drop soap and water solution being careful not to get the remaining backing paper wet.

Step 8:
Lay the vinyl flat and firmly squeegee from the center out to remove the water. Make sure to tuck the vinyl all the way into the edges by going back over it with the squeegee then repeat with the other side.

Step 9:
Carefully remove the mask layer by keeping it flat against the windshield as you peel.

Step 10:
Go over the edges of the vinyl to make sure the vinyl is tucked in all the way around the windshield.

Step 11:
Carefully trim along the outside of the windshield using a razor blade and remove the excess vinyl.

Step 12:
Dry the windshield before applying the next layer.

Step 13:
Fold the lettering in half and make a crease to find you center point. Line the crease up to the center mark of the rear view mirror and tape in place.

Step 14:
Measure from the bottom of the strip to the bottom of the letters on each side to make sure the decal is straight.

Step 15:
Repeat steps 2-9. Tape in place, measure each side, and apply one side at a time making sure not to get the remaining backing paper wet. Squeegee from the center out and carefully remove the transfer tape keeping it flat on the windshield as you peel.

Track day number plates and general dry application:

Note:
Both the Permanent vinyl and Reusable vinyl number plates are DRY applications. You will not use water to apply. For Permanent vinyl numbers, use the provided squeegee. For reusable vinyl numbers, simply peel and stick by hand.

Step 1:
Clean and dry the vehicle surface. Vinyl will stick best to a non waxed surface. Dish soap and water will do the trick. Rubbing alcohol will also provide a well prepared surface.
Step 3:
Peel the backing paper and stick your numbers into place by applying pressure to the top two corners only. Hold the bottom of the decal away from the car to keep it from sticking all at once.
Step 4:
Squeegee horizontally the from the center out, starting from the top of the decal and working your way down.
Step 5:
For Permanent vinyl, peel off the protective mask from the top of the decal. Reusable vinyl does not use a masking.
